Mastering Emotions: A Deep Dive into the Inner Realm for Resilience, Emotional Intelligence, and Mindfulness

Updated: Apr 4

Have you ever experience the feeling of gaining control (more times than not) over the subtle signals of the body an mind? While it's commonplace to discern sensations of pain or pleasure, the intricate communication transpiring within our bodies often eludes notice. What would happen if we attend meticulously to these signals to discern sensations? and what would happen to our emotions if we attend to resilience instead?

Envision the ability to intercept those moments just before emotions surface. Consciously creating an opportunity to navigate through the emotion in the moment without becoming it. This is no casual endeavour; it demands practice. However, like anything in life, the more we practice, the more chance attending to cues like our heartbeat pace, muscle tension, and voice ton, the more we can feel our own inner space and resilience. I call, the inner space to the essence of our being. Practicing to strength our own ability to intercept the emotion before it goes to action. Practicing to be and feel our inner space to bounce back in conscious resilience.

And that's precisely the terrain I aim to traverse: the inner space. The space where we unearth the key to understand, recognize, and gain control over the emotions and thoughts triggering shifts in your body and mind state. The space were we bounce back in conscious resilience. Through that practice, which I call "hacking emotions", I've not only heightened the awareness of my resilience but also cultivated the ability to re-shape my responses more consciously than not.

I won't romanticize it; this is no facile task. It's a formidable challenge to resist the continual temptation to justify my behavior, thinking, and feelings. For that reason, I had to act on behalf of who I aspire to become rather than succumbing to who I am in a given moment. For that, is imperative to assume full responsibility for what happens in my life.

From that inner space in resilience, I can grasp that the responsibility to influence my mind state rests entirely in my hands. From the moment I embrace that realization, I can commit to practicing to embody the person I aspire to become. Failing is the natural part of the process, and every-time that I do fail I get an opportunity to formulate better powerful questions towards myself: What would the person whom I aspire to become do in these circumstances? What kind of response would that person offer? Where would that person go to exercise? What would that person eat? Who would she hang out with? Suddenly, I am offering myself another chance to think and act better without punishing myself.. It's not facile; it takes copious practice and numerous failures. But the courage to gaze into our human's soul is strong enough in those moments to truly observe what happened.

We are born with that strength and resilience, we just get out of practice. To probe my point, I would like to share the story of Martin Seligman's daughter, who, at the tender age of five, made a conscious decision that transform everything around her. Seligman, a luminary in positive psychology, relayed his daughter's remarkable story. Her daughter said to him: “I can stop whining, you can stop being such a grouch" (Seligman, 2002, p.28). She declared later on, "That was the hardest thing I've ever done". I've perused this line a thousand times. This little girl comprehended it—she recognized her undesirable behavior, assumed responsibility, and initiated a change in resilience.

Have you contemplated viewing life through the same lens as this little girl? embarking on any transformative journey mandates a shift in perspective and resilience—the question is: are we ready to accept the quest and act with resilience? This article extends an invitation to explore our inner space that leads to a more mindful and emotionally intelligent existence. It beckons us to unearth the courage within, mirroring the fearless act of a five-year-old who decided to rewrite her emotional narrative.

🚀🚀🚀 5 Inspirational Tips to Act in Resilience 🚀🚀🚀

🚀Awakening Inner Awareness for Resilience:

The initial stride towards influencing the body-mind state is to cultivate awareness of the body's signals. Pain and pleasure merely scratch the surface; beneath lies a rich tapestry of cues awaiting deciphering. Practice paying attention to subtle shifts, like the cadence of your heartbeat or the tension in your muscles, as they unfold in real-time.

This heightened awareness grants access to our inner space where thoughts and emotions unfurl before they fully manifest. It's an opportunity to connect with your authentic self, providing insights that can steer you towards a more intentional and purposeful way of living.

🚀Navigating the Inner Landscape is to be Resilience:

Engaging with your inner space transcends mere self-awareness; it's a voyage of self-discovery. Plunge into this realm with curiosity, scanning for the emotions and thoughts catalyzing shifts in your mind state. Recognize the patterns influencing your responses to external events.

Navigating the inner landscape is acquiring the ability to chart a course through life's challenges. Rather than reacting impulsively, respond thoughtfully, aligning actions with a better version of yourself.

🚀Embracing Responsibility and Accountability to strengthen Resilience:

The power to influence the body-mind state is interwoven with responsibility. Seligman's daughter grasped this at five years old when she resolved to cease her whining. In her simple yet profound act, she embraced responsibility for her mind state and took the initiative to change.

This isn't about blame or judgment; it's about recognizing that, akin to the five-year-old, you possess the agency to shape your emotional landscape. What shifts would transpire in your life if you approached challenges with a mindset of responsibility and accountability?

🚀Crafting Your Narrative to Support Resilience:

Envisage having the ability to rewrite the script of your emotional responses. Armed with the knowledge gleaned from your inner space, you can consciously craft a narrative aligned with your values and aspirations. Rather than a passive observer of your emotions, become an active participant in the story of your life.

🚀The Journey of a Lifetime with Resilience:

Embarking on this journey necessitates practice, commitment, and a willingness to embrace vulnerability. Just as a skilled coach steers an athlete to peak performance, you can coach yourself towards emotional intelligence and mindful living. The destination is not a fixed point but a continual evolution towards becoming the best version of yourself.

What if we could tap into this reservoir of courage within and navigate the inner space towards a more fulfilling and purposeful life?
